About &DEV

&DEV (and.dev) is a UK engineering company. We secure, certify and run the systems businesses depend on, from a ten-person firm’s Microsoft 365 to the cloud platforms and databases behind larger organisations. Paul Kennedy and Hue Holleran founded the company in 2019, and we’re based in Cambridge.

What we do

• Microsoft 365 security for small businesses. A fixed-price security uplift that puts MFA, admin lockdown, email authentication, device management and Defender in place, from £1,800 for a typical 10-user organisation, with optional ongoing management.
• Certification. We get businesses through Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001 and ISO 42001 for AI governance.
• Cloud platforms. We build and run Azure and Kubernetes platforms, delivery pipelines and automation, and cut cloud costs. See Grow, Save and Compete.
• 24/7 database support. DBA.now is our emergency response service for SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Our own products. AutoSec runs automated penetration tests, and SafeTF makes Terraform plans readable in Azure DevOps.

• Fix first, then monitor. We close the gaps that let attackers in before selling anyone a dashboard.
• Fixed prices where we can. Our Microsoft 365 prices are published, so you can compare before you call.
• Engineers, not salespeople. When you call us, you speak to an engineer.
• Plain English and a written record. Every engagement ends with a record a non-technical director can read and show to customers, insurers and regulators.

The people

• Paul Kennedy, cofounder and CEO. Leads the company and its client relationships, and writes about certification and supplier assurance.
• Hue Holleran, cofounder and COO. Hue runs the business day to day and is our lead architect, in charge of everything data, from database architecture to the 24/7 support behind DBA.now.
• James Meek, Principal Security Consultant and ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer. Leads our Microsoft 365 security work and writes about cyber assurance.
